The Quintessence of Tonkin (Tinh Hoa Bắc Bộ) cultural show
This one-hour cultural show remakes the most typical details of ancient Vietnam via different sections. As Vietnam developed from agriculture, the farmers’ life is reflected in most parts of the show with the stage of mothers’ lullabies, plant and harvest activities, fishing boats, street traders, and hawkers on their bikes, etc.
The show is the first “real-life performance” in Vietnam with the participation of 250 performers including 120 amateurs who are real farmers from nearby villages. The amateur performers are locals but they perform very naturally. The special effects such as laser, lighting, water, real animals, water puppets and props are well blended together.
The Quintessence of Tonkin Show is performed entirely on the water with mini-scenes and objects moving flexibly with special techniques.
How to get there?
You can get there by car or taxi. However, the area is about a 1-hour drive from Hanoi and in a quite remote area, I would suggest you take the shuttle bus provided by the same company. The return shuttle bus fee is $100,000 Vietnamese dong from Hanoi center.
Night market & seal or dolphin show
Before the show, you can purchase dinner at the night market selling Vietnamese food. There are live traditional singing and dancing performances. Don’t forget to check out the seal show or dolphin show before the main show too.
