Floriade Canberra

Floriade is an annual flower and entertainment festival held in Commonwealth Park, Canberra, on the banks of Lake Burley Griffin. The event showcases a stunning array of flowering bulbs, interspersed with sculptures and other artistic features. The name Floriade comes from the Latin word ‘floriat’, meaning to design with flowers.

Tourists from all over Australia and beyond flock to Canberra in spring, from mid-September to mid-October, to experience this colorful extravaganza. Regarded as the most significant regular event for tourism in the Australian Capital Territory, Floriade is also known as ‘Australia’s Celebration of Spring.’ Although there was once controversy over entry charges, the festival has been free for several years now, making it accessible to everyone.
